LOVE, love, LOVE this town. It was such a perfect change of pace after the craziness in Rome. We walked around, enjoyed the scenery, took the most amazing naps, ate delicious food and had a fabulous two days.

We stayed at an adorable bed and breakfast owned by a sweet little Italian family who live in the building behind me.

The tower. We never got around to climbing to the top, but we did get to the top of the Duomo which was incredible.

The main piazza is one of the best in Europe "they" say. It was so cool to see people come and go all day.

The streets were so charming. I could have walked every single one of them in this town.

The Duomo. It was absolutely incredible. The massive size and incredible detail on the outside and inside of this cathedral was breathtaking. I LOVED the marble stripes.

One of Michelangelo's sculptures.

This street artist was painting something I actually noticed and was able to see the actual painting in Florence. It's by Caravagio.

That's me sporting skinny jeans and running shoes. My feet needed a break and at this point, style was out the door.

Such adorable little markets all over.

The baptistry at the Duomo

There is a Crayola crayon named "Burnt Siena" after this beautiful brown city.

What a cutie.

These tiny little cookies were SO good, filled with some sort of cream and nutella.

This vegetable soup would be on my "best thing I ever ate" list for sure. Just white beans, carrots, potatoes, spinach, crusty bread just before serving and shaved purple onion and parmesan on the top. The broth stole the show, it must have been cooked for days. Oh, so good. My mouth is watering.

Literally licked the bowl clean.

ravioli for the second course. In Italy, it's all about the pasta, not the sauce. I didn't mind at all because hand made pasta is to die for.

This was the restaurant we at at every night. We just couldn't get enough.

That's me in the middle of the square. You get sick of just standing and smiling after awhile.
John and I absolutely loved this place and would go back in a heart beat. Most people just make it a quick day trip but we are so glad we spend more time to really soak it in.
