About Me

John and I have been married for 9 years and live in Katy, Texas in our first home. Johnny is seven years old now and is a blast to be around. Olivia is four and is a little busy bee. We had Drew in April and have loved having a baby in our home again. John works at his father's company, G&A Partners, and just received his MBA from the University of Texas. As for me, I'm playing mommy all day and just loving life!

Such is Life

Just a little catch up post. Father's day was wonderful! We had a yummy breakfast, lunch and dinner and had fun with John's mom and dad. Sadly, I lost all of our pictures after Liv chucked the camera on the floor and broke it. We'll recover those pictures someday along with our broken hard drive sitting in our drawer.

Miraculously, D gave John a new camera for father's day so we got a few pictures at the end of the day!
These kids are so lucky to have such a lovey daddy!

That night we Skyped with my family in Arizona-mom, dad, ryan, sean, sheila, halle, anna, colbi and jess. I hate missing out on fun parties but Skype helps a little. My kids LOVE their aunts Jess and Colbi! Aren't they gorgeous! We've been swimming at John's parent's house lately and the kids are getting so brave!
Johnny boy started the summer off with ONLY swimming in the jacuzzi then John bribed him with a DS XL and TA-DA! He is a giant five year old with floaties but I'll take what I can get right now!! I'm just proud of his baby steps.

These long summer days have definitely brought the kids closer. They have a love/hate relationship and today it was all love!

Livy loves going in and spending a few seconds at a time with daddy while he studies.

Johnny and his play room. I'm such a genius for turning this room into a play room. Amen.

Cheeeeese!

BEEEKA!!

Beka dearest came to Houston for a little R&R and we had so much fun with her!! One advantage to being the oldest and having the only grandkids is all the attention your kids get from their aunts and uncles!

We went to the lake house on Tuesday morning but there was a HUGE rainstorm which resulted in what the town now calls "the fourth flood". The rains came down and the floods came up, that's for sure!! We heard the alarm and had to evacuate. Right before we left, the water had risen about a foot, the dam had opened up so the "lake" was now a rushing river and covered the dock. Later that day it rose another couple feet, covered the back yard and went into the first floor weight room. Beka and Papa went back on Friday for some clean up and this is what they found...the water had receded and left a few surprises
Full on tree trunks and a picnic table had floated down the river and were stuck in our boat dock!

Johnny and Beka have sooo much fun together. Beka even shared her DS XL with Johnny boy, which made him even happier she was here!

Gramz says "walk it baby" and Johnny gets to flipping!
Saturday afternoon, the kids and I went to the G&A family picnic. Yup, kind of weird going to your husband's company picnic without your husband, but the kids had fun and that's all that matters. They loved this giant chess board.

The water balloons were the biggest hit! Right off the bat, Johnny boy got slammed in the head and it made this perfect wave in his hair.
Little Victoria Vasquez and Johnny were totally flirting!

Papa and David, Victoria's dad, surprised...I don't know his name, with a few water balloons!
Making their escape

Saturday we went to Tay Do, our favorite Vietnamese restaurant and had some vermacelli and egg roll

Livy is the one who named Beka, BEEKA. I think that's what we'll call her from now on.
I just love this picture. When both kids are coming up with every excuse not to go to bed, daddy is the one who says "okay, come watch basketball with daddy." Not me. Momma done!

Memorial Day Weekend

What a FABULOUS weekend!! We were able to go on Friday morning and we spent that day playing outside, boat shopping and taking reeeally long naps!!

Livy spent the entire time in a suit. She even slept in them.

Friday night we went to Johnny's BBQ in Seguin. It's a total whole in the wall filled with cute little county bumpkins and it was really good! Johnny was so proud to go to a restaurant with HIS name! Quote of the weekend, "mom, I have an idea! I'm going to work at Johnny's bbq when I grow up and Papa John can work at Papa John's pizza when he grows up!"

First and only fish of the weekend! My little fisherman
Seriously, there is nothing like having a yummy breakfast served to you on the dock. Just ask John!

This is why we love the lake house. We get papa all to ourselves!

This is what I woke up to Sunday Morning...

San Antonio is only 35 miles away from the lake house so we went to the mercado down town to explore and have lunch and to the zoo.

The mercado was filled with these mexican wrestling masks like the ones from Nacho Libre and Johnny LOVED them! Daddy couldn't resist and let him pick one out...

This is the main strip, it's full of food vendors selling tacos, chalupas, flautas, aguas frescas, fruit and funnel cake. I'm so proud of John for resisting all temptation!
Waiting for our table at Mi Tierra

I have no idea what Liv is doing...do babies get b.o?
Ready to eat!
The girl loves a good guacamole!
And he just ate chips and tortillas
Next onto the famous bakery at Mi Tierra
He chose a donut, of course

I wish I would have had my video camera. Livy was doing some street dancing while eating her donut and passers were stopping to watch. And she acted like she couldn't see them

I don't need a wipe mommy. all clean.
The SA zoo is really cute. I would have really enjoyed it had it been about 25 degrees cooler! But we had fun and the kids loved it.

Our first time seeing a real hippo! They are so ugly it's cute!

After a long day of fun and sweating to death, he had to unwind.

I had to add this random picture of Mrs. Duck. She has a nest on top of the neighbor's dock and she quacks all day long and tell her mate when she needs to be protected. It's pretty cute. I just want to see those babies. And how the heck are they going to get down?
The truck and boat. So pretty!

For the first couple days before papa got there, Livy thought this boat was just a really good toy we could climb in
This is Johnny doing his master negotiating, "Mom, IF I get in this boat, you can't go fast, and will NOT get in a tube. EVER. Okay? Not fast and not tube. Got it?" He's got some anxiety issues. We're working on it.
Not so sure about what we're about to do.
There she is...Ms. Natique

Ready to go!
Poor guys had no idea how to get the boat off the trailer and into the water but we figured it out!
He did it!! First time driving his boat in the lake!
Mommy and Liv were the first ones to ride then we went and picked up the boys at our dock

This picture does portray our day on the boat accurately because this was probably the only time Johnny smiled until he was able to get off! Livy just wanted her paci.
My brave little girl in the water! I look nasty in this one.
First one on the tube!

My forearms are still sore from holding on so tight
Daddy's turn!
Johnny felt safer on the ground, poor kid
More daddy
Loving life

Brave papa was the only one willing to scrape all the duck poop off of the floating island so we could play on it.John was the first to try the rope swing. (insert Tarzan screams)

The view of the back yard from the balcony

We got a text from Denise that afternoon saying she had invited the Pruitt family over for dinner so we should be there by 4:30, so we started cleaning, packed up, and drove straight there to have a family bbq for Memorial Day!The big boys shootin' hoops
"dinner's ready!"
Sweet baby Ava and her 8 lb. diaper
Max and Livy stayed at the dessert table. Max had ice cream straight from the carton and Livy had chocolate ice cream with root beer in it and then decided it would be even better to dip her rice crispy treat in it.

Spencer just graduated from UT's medical school on Saturday. Congratulations Doc!
