About Me

John and I have been married for 9 years and live in Katy, Texas in our first home. Johnny is seven years old now and is a blast to be around. Olivia is four and is a little busy bee. We had Drew in April and have loved having a baby in our home again. John works at his father's company, G&A Partners, and just received his MBA from the University of Texas. As for me, I'm playing mommy all day and just loving life!

Montegranaro

After Siena, we took a long 5 hour train ride to the beautiful rolling hills of Montegranaro where Ryan played for the team, Fabi Shoes. Jess had gone to the hospital the night before we got there so we were hoping to see Asher the day we arrived....that didn't happen. Jess went to the hospital Friday night, we arrived Saturday at around 4:00 PM and she had the baby Sunday at 11:00 AM. She had a long, hard, horrible delivery and you can read her story on her blog. All that matters is that Jess survived, Asher was strong and healthy and we got to see him and spend lots of time together! We got to the hospital Saturday late afternoon and Jess was having horrible contractions 5 minutes apart. This picture captures many, many hours perfectly. Jess was so strong and Ryan was so sweet and supportive.
First time holding sweet Asher. I fell in love instantly.

LOVE him
First family picture
The hospital was in Ancona which is this great little town on the sea. Lucky for us, there was a fabulous street fair going on and we did some great exploring and taste testing. We had so much fun with Peggy, Jess's mom, who loves trying new food as much as we do.
Every baby in the hospital had a big sign with their name on the door so Peggy had this bib made for Asher and we hung it on our door.
So much good food to be tried!

This is called porchetta and it's pretty much tons of pig parts shoved into the skin with tons of herbs and roasted for hours. It was pretty yum but the thought of it now makes me want to hurl.

These waffles were the BEST. They batter was actually a sticky dough and tasted like a croissant waffle with a sugary crispiness on the outside.
I love him
Asher's sign!
I love this picture! The nurses LOVED Asher and were so touchy and sweet with him. It was very different from the nurses in America who toss new borns around like dolls and barely ask their name.
John got to go to the Fabi game with Ryan Sunday night and I stayed with the girls and the baby. He had so much fun seeing the crazy fans. They were just as crazy and fun as Ry and Jess had explained. Afterward, they went to Casa di Campo and had some delicious food and even brought some back for us.
Ryan had talked about the crazy mullet guy and there he was!

Their apartments on the right with more views
He was such a dream from the very start.
"I think you're going to be my favorite aunt."
All together. I wish Peggy could have been in this picture, we really grew to love her during our two days at the hospital!
More pretties from the street fair.

John was a little nervous to hold the little guy but had to give him some love before we left. And after five minutes he said, "okay, I really want another one of these!"
So we spent Saturday night alone at Ryan and Jess's apartment while Jess labored away, spent all day Sunday at the hospital and took Peggy home with us that night to get some much needed sleep, spent all day Monday at the hospital then Ryan came home with us and took us to the train station Tuesday morning. It wasn't what we had planned, but I wouldn't have changed it. I got to see my sweet little nephew, spend time with my brother and his incredible wife, bond with Peggy, my new favorite person, see Ancona and Montegranaro, and had a wonderful time.
