The Allen Family: March 2012

Day 2 at Disney was another day at Magic Kingdom. We conquered Fantasy Land and Adventure Land the day before and this day was Tomorrow Land and Frontier Land. First was Tomorrow land and we went straight for fast passes at Space Mountain!

And don't worry, G&A, John was working the entire trip. If he wasn't riding, eating, or sleeping, he was looking at his phone.

First ride of the day, Buzz lightyear!

Next was the Astro Orbiter

We also did, the Monster's Inc. Laugh floor which was adorable, Stitch's Great Escape which was weird and not scary anymore since it is Stitch and not some slimy alien, and finally Space Mountain. Liv and I skipped that one and got popsicles instead. When the boys were done, we caught the 3:00 parade.

Liv absolutely LOVED the parades. We sat next to a woman with all boys and she had so much fun explaining who all the princesses were to Liv. Boys are just different:)

We let the kids pick out special Disney prizes this day and Johnny chose a Goofy hat

Liv chose princess Minnie. We had to leave the park for an early dinner at the Floridian with Cinderella and Friends.

First out was Prince Charming. Livy would have nothing to do with him.

But she sure loved Cinderella. She asked if her hair was in a special princess muffin. (that's code word for bun).

Mean step mom. Again, Liv was not interested.

After dinner, we zoomed back over to the park and rode Splash Mountain and let the kids run around Frontier Land. And then we were done!

We watched the little performance at the castle before we left and went home to swim and relax at around 7:30.

Day 2 was Animal Kingdom, our favorite place of all! It's hard for me to describe how magnificent this place was. The detail is incredible. It made me wish I was creative enough to design Disney parks, what a cool job that would be.

We did a few of the zoo-ish things first to take a break from the lines. Oh, I mean after getting our first fast pass of the day:)

The animal habitats here were better than any zoo I've ever been to. It really seemed like they were free in the wild and we were just walking around the rain forest.

The African section is amazing. These guys on the drums were so cool! I would have probably been dancing along with them ten years ago.

This tree took my breath away. Pictures don't do it justice. It is HUGE. Like as big as the castle, huge! and animals are carved out going down the trunk and the roots reach down around the theater to the Bugs Life show. The show is actually underneath the tree. You have to see it to really appreciate it. I'm obsessed.

The Asian section of the park was also amazing. I seriously felt like I was there!

It was finally time for our safari after lunch and we were so excited! Everyone said this was the best ride at the park and it did not disappoint!

Next we rode the Kali River Rapids ride which was probably Livy's favorite. We got soaked which felt SO good because it was a little steamy. Livy thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen when we all screamed and got drenched at the end. I don't think she has ever laughed that hard!

In the distance is the Everest ride which was mine and John's favorite of the day. It was a real roller coaster and we took both kids. It goes super fast and at one point it looks like the Yeti has ripped the track of course so you stop...and then start going backwards! Livy was screaming, Johnny was frozen with fear and held is breath for two minutes and John and I were wheezing we were laughing so hard. The lady in front of me was yelling, "its okay sweet heart! Poor baby!" and gave me dirty looks when we got off. When it was all over, both kids smiled and said it was a little bit fun and scary:)
