John and I have been married for 9 years and live in Katy, Texas in our first home. Johnny is seven years old now and is a blast to be around. Olivia is four and is a little busy bee. We had Drew in April and have loved having a baby in our home again. John works at his father's company, G&A Partners, and just received his MBA from the University of Texas. As for me, I'm playing mommy all day and just loving life!
The Allen Family celebrated the November birthdays (John and Papa 11/11, Greg 11/18, and Mckell 11/29) at Taste of Texas on Saturday. It was, as always SO delicious and SO much fun. Here's what I ate. Just me. Count the calories: 2 bacon wrapped quail bites, two jalepeno poppers, a salad, one roll, one 10 oz. steak, a side of au gratin potatoes, two shrimp, a few bites of the key lime cheese cake and a few bites of the creme brule. I'm still full.
We all sat down and didn't know what to do without two wiggle children with us! It was so much fun! The three boys all have the same size feet. Greggy boy is growing like a WEED!
Since I intend on making a Blurb book out of my blogging (to avoid any and all scrapbooking), I thought I should post what happened this week.
History was made this Tuesday. And though it's not what I had hoped would happen, it was neat to see. John and I were at the Rockets game and walked into the lounge to a huge flat screen announcing Barack Obama had been elected president. I thought, "crap" but then looked around at all the African Americans crying, screaming, jumping up and down and hugging total strangers. It was a huge moment and I'm excited to see what our new president will do. Good luck Mr. O, you'll be in our prayers!
John and I got to go to the Rockets/Celtics game last night and it was a blast! Our seats were SWEET and the Celts won-woo hoo! And just for the record, John did feel guilty wearing green and not cheering for the Rockets and also just for the record I didn't. Thanks so much to uncle D for getting our tickets!
After NOT carving pumpkins at my pumpkin carving party (long story)I decided to give our pumpkins to Johnny and his new BFF Daniel and let them color them. It's now J's favorite thing to do! Johnny had a long day waiting for it to get dark but refused to take a nap during quiet time. After two hours in his room, he came out with it looking like this: After completely demolishing his room he came out at around 4:30 and did this: We got his costume on and he waited a few minutes to get dark...it didn't so he decided to have a snack. Dragons need energy you know!
Then we had a little photo shoot in the back yard. Surprisingly, Livs loved her costume!
It finally got dark and John and I took turns taking the kids around the neighborhood. After every house Johnny would beg to go to "just one more house mom, I like saying trik or treat, then they give me CANDY!" He was adorable and actually lasted a long time! It was a great night!
Johnny's preschool had their costume parade, which I missed, and Halloween party yesterday, it was adorable! Johnny loves his dragon costume and loved seeing what all of his friends were. He and Adam the dinosaur were telling each other why dinos and dragons could eat people and roared at everyone who walked by. Silly boys. Everyone enjoyed eating candy and cupcakes at 10:00 AM, who wouldn't! I can't wait to take the kids out tonight! We'll see if we can make it all the way around the culdesac before Johnny wants to go home.
My little Livs turned 8 months old on the 26th. I LOVE This age!! She can move around and play by herself for hours at a time. She'll make her way to Johnny's room and spend an hour dumping every single toy out of every single bin and I don't even mind cleaning it all up because she is so darn cute while she does it. She loves to stand up on anything that will stand still and she screams with delight every time she does it. She is such a happy little baby and she's got such a sassy attitude, I'm just obsessed with my little buddah baby!
