About Me

John and I have been married for 9 years and live in Katy, Texas in our first home. Johnny is seven years old now and is a blast to be around. Olivia is four and is a little busy bee. We had Drew in April and have loved having a baby in our home again. John works at his father's company, G&A Partners, and just received his MBA from the University of Texas. As for me, I'm playing mommy all day and just loving life!

What A Treat!

My life long friend Kisha and her hubby Chris and son James came for a visit to Houston because they're MOVING HERE!! Yea! It was a quick trip but so fun to show them the city I love and hang out at home. We also showed them some yummy southern cuisine at Fish City Grill. They had their first fried pickles!!

We were neighbors growing up and have stayed close since then!

The kids had so much fun having a new friend in our home!

Thanks for coming Atkin Family!

Last Week

Another fun week around here!

We had a fun birthday playgroup at Marci's house on Friday and later went to Greg's basketball game. Livy is walking everywhere these days and thinks she's so big. I love watching her explore her little world on two feet. Enjoy the pics peeps!

Livy was sick earlier this week and woke up after a few naps looking like this-covered in bumps. I was freaking out and was ready to take her back to the doctor but it turns out it was just heat rash (thanks Sarah!). All she needed was some a/c and the fan on!! Poor baby!

Catch Up

We've had a busy couple of weeks doing who knows what, but you know how it is. Things get busy. So here is a run down of the last couple weeks...

Baby girl turned 11 months on the 26th of Jan. She is now walking a lot and loves to watch everyone freak out when she does it. She learned how to clap and can point to mommy and daddy when we ask where they are. She still loves eating garbage-grass, sticks, mulch, stickers. Stickers are her favorite. Johnny gets one every day at preschool and she somehow finds and it and eats. Everyday. This is her first go with a sippy cup. She LOVED it!!

Johnny got a new pair of hand-me-down Spider Man pj's and will not take them off. I'll put his clothes on for the day and he'll go and just put the pj's over them. Whatever. I choose my battles.

The most exciting news of this week was when my brother Ryan scored 63 points in his game against Chicago State. It was the funnest game I've ever listened to! The next day he was on the front page of Yahoo's sports page-he's a total celebrity!!!

I went to the paint store and bought a nice sage-ish green color for my kitchen and ended up going back four times to have him put more green in. It ended up much darker than I intended but I LOOOVE it!!

No, I'm not standing on a chair, John took these pictures.

The End.

For Mom and Annie:)

As you may or may not know, not only is my little guy a midnight cowboy, but he is a pretty amazing little arteest. He looooves to color and draw. He will usually ask me to draw him something like a "spooky castle" or an angler fish (the kind on Nemo with the little light bulb that dangles in front of it to attract other fish, you know, the one with huge demonic teeth. yea, that one) or a three headed monster guy or an ocean cave. Whatever his funny brain is pondering that day. So he'll watch me draw it then he'll go and draw it exactly the same. It's amazing. Here are some examples from the gigantic pile on his coloring table.

Here are some ocean animals. The bottom one is of a whale shark and the top one is an angler fish. Notice how on the bottom one he even drew the water line with birds flying above. Little copy cat

These are the "three head guys" from Scooby Doo. He's narrating this, not me

these are some randoms, one is an ocean hurricane and he couldn't remember what the top one is

These are spooky castles. Spooky castles have ghostes (he double pronounces the es to make it plural, so cute!) and spooky witches

Enjoy Mimi and Nan

MLK Day

John had the day off work yesterday so we went to the gym in the am and played some racket ball, which I stink at, and then the boys went to the Rockets game in the afternoon while the girls did some shopping at Highland Village. A perfect day!

Late at Night...

My son is a total night owl. It doesn't matter what time he wakes up or if he takes a nap he is NEVER asleep before 9:30. Lately we have been tucking him in, giving him his water, saying prayers, the whole drill at around 9:00 then quickly running to the TV to watch our shows for the night. Without fail, we hear the door open and close as quietly as possible then we hear the jingle jangle of Mr. PJ cowboy struttin around the corner. He is so funny. Where does he come up with this?

Her First Chocolate Chip Cookie!

I think she liked it.
