About Me

John and I have been married for 9 years and live in Katy, Texas in our first home. Johnny is seven years old now and is a blast to be around. Olivia is four and is a little busy bee. We had Drew in April and have loved having a baby in our home again. John works at his father's company, G&A Partners, and just received his MBA from the University of Texas. As for me, I'm playing mommy all day and just loving life!

Thanksgiving

We took a day trip to San Antonio for Thanksgiving and had a blast! We ate like kings and Queens at the Hyatt Hill Country's Thanksgiving buffet then had some fun at Sea World. We'll definitely be doing that again!

One of the many many reasons I love Hyatt Hill Country is that it is so family friendly! They had a full kids buffet filled with kid friendly food, cookies, milk, balloon animals, and coloring stations. I think the kids loved it as much as we did!

The food was A-mazing. Surprisingly, I didn't take any pictures of it though, except for the crab claws Johnny and I devoured. They were so good. But some of my favorites of the day were: the five onion soup with grouyere croutons, the braised beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, shrimp cocktail, homemade marinara sauce over angel hair with fresh parmesean, sweet potatoes and crispy green beans. But the winner of the day for me was the bread pudding. I'm not usually even a dessert person but these were tiny little individual squares of heaven with hot caramel sauce over them. Enough about the food. I will dream about it till next year.

After we completely stuffed ourselves with deliciousness we took a little walk around the grounds. I'm stupid and didn't ask someone to take a family picture for us. Dang it.

Next stop? Sea World!! It's just across the street from where we had our feast and it's open on T-day! The weather was amazing, it was much less crowded than usual and we did whatever the kids wanted, no plan, no schedule, one show and done by 5:30. It was a perfect day!

We spent the weekend putting up decorations, the tree, the lights and went to dinner Saturday for my birthday at Taste of Texas mmmmmmm, I'm still dreaming about my steak.

Sunday was the actual birthday. John made breakfast, kids gave me a card and present, the kids were actually cooperative that morning and I managed to get a picture of their cute Sunday outfits before we got in the car.

Sunday dinner was at the Allens. It's always nice to end the day with family you love. Johnny and Livy are really into their new piano-it plays animal sounds and Old Macdonald!

Soooo Behind!

First, I would like to say how great it feels to be private! Just you and me! No more "anonymous" commenters and strange Turkish fans with their broken English trying to see more pictures of my family (thanks Ryan!).

Hubby had a birthday on November 11. Yes, I'm waaaay behind! He turned the big 2-9! We celebrated with a big fatty breakfast and a new shirt and tie in the morning before work and a nice dinner and chocolate pumpkin cupkcake/muffin thingies after work. I love you John! You da bomb.

My silly little Livy girl. She is getting the funniest personality. Very strong headed, like her mom...and dad...and grandpa...and aunts and uncles...she really had no choice! She woke up a couple mornings in a row and went to the fridge, opened it up all by herself, grabbed the grape tomatoes and sat down to eat. I tried to trade them for eggs or pancakes or cereal but there was NO discussion. Whatever!

A couple weeks ago, the kids were playing in the garage and wanted to play on the jogging stroller so I brought it out to the porch where I could see them more easily. Well, Livy played for an hour and when I told her it was time to come in and eat she had a melt down (those are very very common these days!). So she ate dinner in the stroller. And the next day it was about 50 degrees outside and she was screaming for that darn stroller again so I wrapped her up, pulled the stroller half way into the house and let her sit in it for awhile. I'll do anything to get a few minutes of free time! The child does not watch TV ever and does not really "play" with toys yet. So if she wants to freeze her tush off in the jogger, sounds great! It's called creative parenting!

A fun little group of girls went to see NEW MOON at MIDNIGHT last Thursday. Crazy I tell you. It was a good movie and we went to this really cool theater that serves food IN the theater but the next day I was trashed. OF COURSE my kids did not take naps and John was at school till Saturday night so there was no sleeping in either. But the movie was good. That little Jacob has got some great abs but he's 17, ick. And yes, Edward, aka, RPat could have done a few more sit ups in my opinion but I am still and always will be an Edward fan. I'm already married to Jacob. He's silly and smelly and sarcastic and we laugh and joke all the time. Edward is a fantasy and that's why we all like him. Thanks for a fun night girlies!!

Yesterday was Johnny's Thanksgiving Feast and performance at preschool. It was adorable. Little turkey hats, chicken nuggets, corn bread, fruits and veggies and cheese and crackers. I was sitting in the back with Livy watching these funny kids pick their noses, hit the kids next to them, or stare at the ceiling while the music teacher sang at the top of her lungs and watched all fifty parents each holding a video camera with these proud grins on their faces and just laughed. I'm already here, like totally upper twenties- almost THIRTY, watching my big boy try to sing songs at school with all these crazy parents and their cameras. I'm getting old. I love it! But I still feel like a 17 year old who likes to rock out to music in her car and eat frozen yogurt for breakfast. Life is going by way too fast these days. That's all I'm trying to say.
